Description

Trockenelement. Dry element. Addition to patent 381861. The main patent relates to a drying line in which the electrolyte inside the cell is sealed The vessel is housed when the element is put into use by the movement a pressure element is opened or destroyed. According to the main patent, the one is movable Electrode connected to the dry absorbent material and this is advantageous executed in such a way that the movable carbon electrode or its doll- by means of a porous covering on the inner wall which insulates in the dry state of the zinc cup is guided like a piston.

The purpose of these drying elements, prior to their commissioning or Triggering to allow a long shelf life is, however, like experience has shown; not achieved with certainty in all cases. Rather, it follows that in such elements even if the electrolyte container is intact and completely leak-proof low currents occur, the finite time the performance of the element greatly reduce. According to the invention, it was possible to avoid this drawback by that the depolarization layer, the so-called doll of the carbon electrode of the element, is made in such a way that it consists only of dry materials and is free from highly hygroscopic components. Will the doll as usual for the elements according to the method of L e c 1 a n c h e made of graphite, manganese dioxide and aqueous ammonia solution prepared, so you can proceed in such a way that the finished pressed doll is subjected to a drying process. You can z. B. with a Ammonia solution, mix the ingredients into a paste, shape and press and then put the doll in a drying oven at a temperature of about 10 ° dry out. It is essential in the method according to the invention that an additive zinc chloride or other strongly hygroscopic substances is avoided.

Compared to the known method for producing such elements The main difference is that earlier the dolls only in damp or at most air-dry condition were used while it was in the process after of the invention, it is essential that the water content from the doll as possible is completely removed.

In this way, a dry element can be stored almost indefinitely according to the system of the main patent.
