Abstract

Alginate can only be used with restrictions for taking impressions of trimmed teeth. In particular, a large number of superficial bubbles interfere with reproduction of details. The capsule alginate according to the invention avoids this restriction in that the pre-metered powder and the mixing fluid are preferably enclosed under a vacuum in the mixing capsule, so that no air bubbles can be stirred into the alginate during mechanical mixing. This results in bubble-free surfaces and improved material properties.

Description

The molding of ground teeth is usually done by Combination of thin-flowing and firmer impression material lien. Here, the thin-flowing material should be every detail exactly reproduce the surfaces to be molded. Conventional Alginates do not meet this requirement.

Newer fine alginates also show on the surface of the Ab prints a variety of small air bubbles that detail impair playback.

Alginates are usually dosed by hand and in one Vessel mixed by hand or pre-dosed for powder and Liquid delivered in a cartridge and in this with mixed with a vibrator. In both cases Mix a not inconsiderable amount of air into the alginate stirred in. This trapped air can then during the Taking an impression leads to superficial blistering.

This disadvantage is caused by the capsule alginate according to the innovation thereby avoided that in the capsule the powder and Mixing liquid under vacuum, greatly reduced air pressure or a gas that is difficult to stir. It result in almost bubble-free alginate surfaces and also better contraction properties and stay the deformation.

In the basic version, the capsule ( 1 ) is cylindrical and divided by a bursting membrane ( 5 ) into a chamber ( 2 ) for receiving the liquid ( 7 ) and a chamber ( 3 ) for receiving the powder ( 6 ). The chamber ( 7 ) is as complete as possible, the chamber ( 3 ) is only partially filled. Unfilled portions ( 8 ) of the chambers ( 2 ) and ( 3 ) are under vacuum (eg after packaging under vacuum), reduced air pressure or under a gas which is difficult to mix. The cap sel ( 1 ) is at the rear end by a piston-like cover ( 4 ) which can be inserted into the capsule by means of an external stamp ( 10 ) and at the front end by a conical spout ( 9 ), via which after cutting or opening the mixed alginate is sprayed out at the tip.

In a preferred embodiment, the shape of the capsule ( 1 ) is designed as a disposable syringe with an integrated handpiece ( 12 ) and the pressure ram ( 11 ) guided in the rear capsule extension ( 14 ).

The front connection piece ( 9 ) is designed in such a way that a syringe attachment or a spray nozzle ( 13 ) can be attached (for example by means of an adhesive cone, bayonet catch or thread). After opening the tip of the nozzle ( 9 ), the bubble-free alginate, which is mixed in the capsule by machine, can be applied directly from the capsule in the mouth by means of the syringe attachment ( 13 ) to take the impression.

In a further embodiment of the capsule ( 1 ) as a disposable syringe, the spray nozzle ( 15 ) is integrated on the capsule housing and the material outlet is closed by a second bursting membrane ( 16 ), which is blown up after the mixing of the alginate by further insertion of the pressure plunger ( 11 ).
