Abstract

Awnings of the previous type of construction have been used, up until now, as protection against wind and inclement weather and as advertisement carriers. The latter usage, however, has been ruled out. They could be used only by the additional laying of 220-V-power lines and by installing lamps on the awning. The novel arrangement is intended to make it possible for the awning and the illumination to be regarded, in future, as a self-contained unit. The arrangement is composed essentially of the aluminium basic body (1) on which a special translucent film (3) is tensioned. This body is to be closed towards the bottom by a base panel (2) consisting of, for example, acrylic. Said base panel serves both as a visual termination of the arrangement and to receive the accumulator (4) of the lighting and controlling unit (5-6). Located in the upper region is the solar-cell module for generating power (8). The arrangement thus permits a friction-free mounting of the entire body without any additional installation work being necessary. By virtue of the controlling unit (5), fully automatic switching on and off of the lighting unit is additionally achieved. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an awning in the evening as advertising carrier lights up. The energy required for this is but not satisfied from the public lighting network, but deliver the integrated solar cells in the upper area the necessary energy, which is stored in an accumulator is saved.

The energy requirement should therefore not come from the local Light net to be covered because of a subsequent installation such a luminous awning also the subsequent one Installation of an associated power line would be required. This is often very up from a construction point of view agile or associated with costs. It also represents Invention is a contribution to energy saving, especially since after a few years of operation by an Amorti sation can speak through cost savings. The thought, to provide sun protection with solar panels not new; e.g. in the German patent specification DE 29 42 770 C2 or in the US patent standard US-PS 41 02 329 described.

However, both patents describe systems in which warm water occurs as a carrier of energy. A plant, converts solar energy into electrical energy, in ver ties with an awning are not known in the research become.

If an awning is to be illuminated, it must be provided by the customer a power supply line will be routed to the outside facade then not insignificantly defaced.

This task is carried out in a generic facility solved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

In order to be able to use such an arrangement sensibly, a control circuit is required to automate the necessary processes such as charging the battery or switching on the lamp. According to claim 1, drawing 3 gives an image of such a control unit.

The advantages achievable with the invention are that the system is complete and without additional work on site mon can be used and works immediately from day one is capable.

An embodiment of the invention and the associated the control and regulation circuit are shown in the drawing posed.
