Process for the production of porous rubber compounds. The procedure
for the production of porous rubber compositions according to the present invention
on the fact that the rubber-sulfur mixture is a gas-absorbent substance such.
B. charcoal, adds the mixture for a long time under the pressure of an indifferent
Grass, e.g. B. nitrogen, holds, vulcanized under gas pressure and cools. After this
Cooling down, the pressure is released and heated again. From the known procedures
The present process differs for the production of rubber sponge
by adding a substance to the mixture used for vulcanization,
which absorbs gases which are expelled again during later heating and thereby
cause the formation of pores.
When carrying out the process, raw rubber,
for example para rubber, mixed with a sufficient amount of sulfur. Simultaneously
an extremely fine-grained body is added to this mixture, which absorbs gases.
One such body is ground charcoal, which is produced in the dry distillation of
extremely dense vegetable matter. Starting materials for .the
Manufacture of such charcoal by dry distillation are the shells of coconut,
Peach stones and the like. This mixture is in a mold with the introduction of a gas
subjected to high pressure and then heated.
Nachdem his zur vollständigen Vulkanisation
Nitrogen has proven to be particularly useful as a gas, but
any other inert gas can also be used. From the evenly
Large amounts of the gas are absorbed by the mass of charcoal, without
bring about a change in the shape of the mass itself. During vulcanization
the pressure of the gas mass is maintained. After full vulcanization
heated, is cooled without reducing the pressure. After completely cooling down
the pressure is released by opening the mold. Then the mass becomes ordinary
Pressure heated to about 93 ° for several hours. The gas flowing through the fine
dispersed charcoal is absorbed by the second heating that is done without
Pressure takes place, released and thereby pores are formed in the interior of the mass. on
in this way a uniform pore formation is guaranteed through the whole mass,
and depending on the addition of larger or smaller amounts of charcoal. or the like
Substances to mix the rubber with sulfur can also form the inside
the finished mass can be regulated.
This opens up the possibility of producing very different types
Rubber articles. If a rubber compound is to be produced that has little elasticity
possesses, the vulcanization of the para rubber with the sulfur is complete
carried out. Such masses are suitable for processing on boards, plates and the like.
Like., As a lining for refrigerated trucks, refrigerators, etc. The vulcanization is accordingly
here, as it were, made twice or
at least is read
Material heated to vulcanization temperature before and after cooling.
Polsterzwecke usw.Target soft Kautschttkschwamm be prepared as a mixture of Parakautschttk and balata is used and the second-l rhitzung is not fortgestzt to `TU lkanlsationswärtne. Such a soft Schwammgunnni in Plattenfortn is suitable for use as a heat insulator for mattresses and other upholstery purposes, etc.
selbst einnehmen soll.Such a mixture can also be used for filling wheel tires.
Here, too, the same procedure is followed as with reference to the production of soft
Rubber sponge has been described above. The second heating of the rubber mass
without pressure then preferably takes place in the form that the filling compound in the tire
should take yourself.
