Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Kühlung elektrischer Maschinen mittels eines in ständigem Kreislauf durch dieselben hindurchgeführten und vor dem Eintreten in dieselben rückgekühlten Luftstromes. Solche Verfahren sind an sich bekannt, auch ist es bekannt, an Stelle von Luft neutrale Gase zu verwenden, um ein Verbrennen der Isolation im Falle einer Beschädigung der Maschinenwicklungen, beispielsweise durch Kurzschluß, zu verhindern und diese neutralen Gase dadurch zu gewinnen, daß der Sauerstoff der Luft entweder entzogen oder chemisch gebunden wird. Die Erfindung erstrebt gegenüber diesen Verfahren einen wirtschaftlichen Vorteil und besteht darin, daß sie die Umlaufluft in beliebigem Ausmaße durch Verbrennungsgase anreichert bzw. ersetzt. Ihr Anwendungsgebiet ist daher auf solche Anlagen beschränkt, in denen Abgase der genannten Art zur Verfügung stehen. Es können hierfür sowohl die Abgase von Kessel oder anderen Feuerungen.als auch von Verbrennungsanlagen oder Verbrennungsmaschinen (Gas- oder Dieselmotoren o. dgl.)
