Verfahren zur Herstellung von -Bau- und Isolierkörpern. Die Herstellung von Baukörpern u. dgl. aus Torf und gelöschtem Kalk, auch unter Verwendung heißen Wassers, ist bekannt. Ferner ist es bekannt, bei der Herstellung von Bausteinen aus Sägespänen oder Holzfasern zur Vernichtung von Fäulnis erregenden Bakterien der Masse ungelöschten Kalk mit heißem Wasser zuzusetzen und dann erst das eigentliche Bindemittel, den Zement, Gips und andere Beimengungen, wie Sand, zuzumischen. Im Gegensatz hierzu betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung ein Verfahren, welches darauf beruht, feuersicheres Bau- und Isoliermaterial aus Torf zu gewinnen. Zu diesem Zwecke wird nasser, zerkleinerter Torf mit gemahlenem Ätzkalk (Kalziumoxyd) vermischt, wobei die Löschung des Ätzkalkes und dabei eine starke Erhitzung der Masse durch die im Torf enthaltene Menge Wasser ohne besondere Wasserzufuhr eintritt. Der die Erhitzung der Masse bewirkende Ätzkalk dient aber alsbald als gelöschter Kalk zugleich als Bindemittel für den Torf zur Herstellung fester Körper in beliebiger Form oder ähnlich wie bei Beton zwischen Schalung für die Verwendung zu Bau-und Isolierzwecken. Dabei bieten die so hergestellten Körper den Vorteil, daß ihre Masse feuersicher geworden ist, dauernde Festigkeit und Unveränderlichkeit besitzt und antiseptische Eigenschaften aufweist, anderseits gegen die Einnistung von Ungeziefer gesichert ist.Process for the production of building and insulating bodies.
