Abstract

The fixing system for a metal light cover (2) fitted to a light housing (1) uses wire spring hoops (4) attached to the cover (2) and slotted through an elongate opening (1a) in the light housing (1). The opening (1a) is at least partly defined by an electrically conductive earth clamp (5') penetrating the lacquer coating applied to the light housing (1) to provide a secure earth connection for the attached cover (2). Each spring hoop (4) has two opposing arms (46) biased away from one another into contact with the earth clamp (5') to maintain the earth connection independent of the height of the cover (2) relative to the housing (1).
