Abstract
The ignition system has the ignition plug connected to the secondary winding which is coupled to a primary winding in series with a switching transistor. The primary winding (2) is part of a bridge circuit whose one diagonal produces a reference voltage for controlling a member (14) used for branching current at the switching transistor. The branched control current is used to define the best charging time constant in the primary circuit. This branching is used to compensate for the voltage drop due to the resistance of the primary winding. The bridge circuit is set in accordance with at least one operating parameter of the combustion engine.
