Description

Process for the production of preferably useful for paper sizing '1 Account wax soap. In and of itself it is known that montan wax, be it purified or in the form of raw montan wax. The known methods are based on saponification with alcoholic caustic alkali, if necessary after a previous one Solution of the wax in a volatile hydrocarbon, partly according to the preceding Treatment with sulfuric acid or with the use of an emulsifying agent.

The present process is now aimed at the production of montan wax soap from montan wax purified by a zinc chloride solution at elevated temperature. Of the The advantage of the procedure is r. in the use of technical, aqueous caustic soda opposite alcoholic = @@ tzallcali, 2. in the omission of the previous resolution in volatile solvents. and 3. in the elimination of an emulsifying agent.

The procedure is carried out in such a way that one can go through it Chlorine zinc solution Montan wax cleaned at elevated temperature as fine as possible, useful on a small ball mill, crushed. For complete and smooth saponification Any superfluous addition of water must be avoided during the saponification as far as possible. For this purpose, the 2% sodium hydroxide required for saponification is made using the smallest amount of water a hot, highly concentrated Caustic soda. The hot concentrated caustic soda becomes the one in the stove or Montan wax in the autoclave: meanwhile by means of indirect superheated steam melted, added. The saponification itself takes place for about three to four hours. by superheated, indirect steam in a closed autoclave or Stove. The temperature during the cooking process is kept at around r2o ° C. The pressure should be about 6 atm. be. After finishing four saponification, the pressure is through Blowing away and the wax soap formed in an open, expediently indirect heated pan with hot water, stirring constantly, thickened to a consistency. For consumption this mass is in any container or container with the same Volume of water melted together by direct steam, emulsified in hot water and in cold. Water introduced. The resulting solution can u. a. use as glue for paper production.
