Abstract

The invention is based on the object of cleaning and drying transparent films which are stored on rolls (reels, rollers) and are used in Hell printing system or so-called overhead projector for conveying information and which has been written on, and to wind it onto an empty roller. It consists essentially of two modules: A subassembly for guiding the film, which is inserted with a predetermined locking position in a water-filled bottom box in which two rotating damping rollers are provided. This obviates the arduous feeding of the transparent foil to be cleaned between damping rollers and guide rollers. All subassemblies which come into contact with water are made of corrosion-proof, swelling-resistant plastics, including the rolling bearings. A simply devised wiping and drying device results in a film which can be stored on rolls, is faultless, transparent, and re-usable. Rollers which rotate at a speed adopted to the traversing speeds of the film prevent damage such as scratches, tears, etc., developing in the film traversing the cleaning procedure and prevent the wound-up cleaned film from sticking. Transparent films having a width of up to 29.7 cm and having a length of up to 30 m can be cleaned. The invention serves to re-use rolls of transparent film which has been written on, and is thus a contribution to environmental protection.

Description

The invention relates to a film roll cleaning device, in offices, educational institutions such as schools and universities, Training centers, etc. can be used in which with pens or so-called overhead projectors is worked, where not on individual transparent Foil sheets, but on foils from the roll in length written from 15 m to 20 m and the width up to 29.7 cm becomes. The device consists of two assemblies, the foil guide assembly ( 3 ) and the water-filled basic box ( 8 ). The latter is a water-filled box in which the two foam rubber-coated wiping rollers ( 11 ) are arranged over the entire width of the box and are stored in the side walls and which accommodates the overhung drive wheel ( 4 ). The two wiping rollers are driven by the toothed belt ( 12 ). Belt tension is via the swiveling belt tensioner ( 9 ), which is also suspended in the water tank.

The film roll to be cleaned ( 1 ) is inserted between the walls of the film guide assembly ( 3 ) in corresponding compression spring actuated guide pins.

Then the film ( 14 ) is guided past the film guide rollers ( 10 ) up to the reel-up ( 2 ), which is just if a commercially available empty roll for winding up the cleaned and dried film.

After the insertion process of the film labeled on one side is complete, the film guide assembly is snapped into a holding device of the water box, so that the film guide rollers ( 10 ) press the film ( 14 ) lightly against the wiping rollers ( 11 ).

Both roller systems, that of the water box ( 8 ) and the film guide assembly ( 3 ) are driven by a direct current motor ( 4 ) at 30 to 60 rpm by means of friction wheels ( 2 ), ( 4 ) and ( 13 ).

The film ( 14 ) moves slowly from the film roll ( 1 ) around the film guide rolls ( 10 ) through relaxed water ( 15 ). After passing the wiping rollers, the film is clear again and the remaining water that has not yet drained is removed by the wipers ( 7 ). The film is then passed past a hot air blower for drying ( 10 ) and the deflection roller, so that the annoying sticking together of the wound film roll is avoided.
