Description

Process for electrical dust deposition from gases. Addition to the patent 36968q .. In the further research and development of the method according to the patent 369684 it has been shown that in certain cases, e.g. B. with excessively high gas velocity, it is not easy to handle the supply of the condensation substance according to, amount and effect so that on the one hand the ion-forming reactions in the gas flow are sufficiently suppressed, but that on the other hand, sufficient residual ionization for effective corona formation or tuft discharge remains in the gas flow . It is therefore sometimes more convenient not to adjust the supply of a condensation substance that suppresses the formation of ions and to completely suppress the intended reactions, but then to ionize the gas flow again to the extent necessary to enable an effective brush discharge.

This can be done in two ways: Either by being in, the by. the condensation process of pretreated gas stream known ionizers effective can be, or so, d'ass one of the dust-bearing pretreated gas stream incorporated inside, but dust-free gas flow. In the second case, of course the additional current is artificially ionized by the imaginary means. As an ionizing agent are called radium, radioactive substances at all, which z. B. as a uranium-containing one Paint of a hollow body traversed by the gas flow can appear; further flames, Arcs, spark currents, glowing bodies and the like.
