Nach dem Hauptpatent wird flüssige Schlacke in strömendes Wasser geleitet und
durch den Wasserstrom sofort wieder aus der Wasserrinne herausgedrückt.
Durch die Erfindung wird eine Verbesserung der Schlackenabführung erreicht. Da der Wasserstrom nicht in allen Fällen zum Abführen
der Schlacke ausreicht und auch der Rost nicht immer entsprechend schräg gestellt
werden kann, um die Schlackenabfuhr zu erleichtern, ist ein Schaufelrad vorgesehen, das
mit seinen Schaufeln die Schlacke faßt und sie aus der Wasserrinne herausführt. Das Schaufelrad
kann an sich beliebig angetrieben werden, doch ist es auch möglich, zum Antrieb ein von dem z. B. dem Ablaufwasser des
Hochofens angetriebenes Wasserrad zum Antrieb des Schaufelrades zu verwenden.
