Verfahren zur Darstellung von Säureanhydriden. :Es ist bekannt, daß

und deren Oxydhydrate (J a c o b s e n , Patent 13127) sowie Kobaltsalze (Be h:

Igo9, volume i p. 179 ; Chem. Zentralblatt igog, I. gi7). the use of heavy metal salts n Jacob se n, as B eha 1 f put, large quantities of condensation products of benzahyds are found in the reaction product. When using acetic acid or in the presence of cobalt salts as catalysts, B eha 1 obtained a smooth reaction with regard to the elimination of chlorine and the formation of blenzaldehyde. As the repetition of B6hal's verses showed, however, between the hydrogen and acetic anhydride formed after the reaction during the reaction, there is a certain equilibrium between the two: The process is therefore practically unfavorable to carry out due to the formation of the volatile acetyl chloride, which is easily carried away by the stream of hydrochloric acid.
