Abstract

The line printing mechanism has its print backing (8), transport device (10,16) and thickness sensor (10,16) mounted on the same support (18) that can be moved in the direction of the print head (6) under the action of a setting drive (86). A transport roller (10) cooperates with a counter roller (16) and is mounted on the support. The transport roller is linked to the transport drive.
