Abstract

In an information transmission system which needs few frequencies and is of simple construction and which consists of an interrogating unit (AF) and a responding unit (AW), a single carrier signal (fp) emitted by the interrogating unit (AF) is fed to a parametric frequency converter (PU) in the responding unit (AW) and, after modulation with the information (m) stored in the responding unit, an oscillation (fH) emitted by the converter (PU) is transmitted back to the interrogating unit (AF) and demodulated in it. <IMAGE>
