Aluminium, Eisen, Kupfer Zink, Zinn), Metalloxyde, z. B. Oxyde der angeführten Metalle, Vanadiumoxyd, Wolfram-, 112olybdän-, Ceroxyde, Metallsalze, z. B. der angeführten Metalle, und Metalloxyde oder Schwefel übertragende Stoffe, z. B. Schwefelchlorür, verwendet werden. Besonders vorteilhaft ist die Anwendung solcher Katalysatoren, die mit gewissen, in den Teeren bzw. in den hochsiedenden Teerölen enthaltenen Verbindungen dunkel gefärbte Produkte liefern und auch hierdurch zur Erhöhung der Farbstärke beitragen.
