Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verdampfen von Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere zur Erzeugung reinen Wassers, durch Verdampfung von Rohwasser und Niederschlagung des gebildeten Dampfes. Gegenüber bekannten gleichartigen Verfahren soll durch die Erfindung die Verdampfungsleistung gesteigert werden. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß zwei Verdampfungseinheiten mit Zubehör je eines Verdampfers und eines Kondensators in solcher Verbindung betrieben werden, daß die eine Einheit durch Abgase und die andere Einheit durch das aus den Kondensatoren herrührende warme Kühlwasser beheizt werden, wobei das Kühlwasser mit seiner niedrigsten Temperatur dem Kondensator der schließlich mit dem Kühlwasser beheizten Einheit zugeleitet wird.
