Abstract

Some countries have made it illegal to dispose of dust from the electrofilters of refuse incinerator plant by mixing it with slag and dumping it on public rubbish heaps, because of the content of heavy metals, chloride and surplus absorbents (calcium hydroxide). It is therefore suggested to agglomerate, pelletise or extrude the dust after an addn. of water and organic/inorganic binders, followed by a coarse redn. and an enclosure in a watertight coating. Alternatively they can be compacted in a PROCTOR press. The binder used for the dust can be cement, water-glass, fly ash with a puzzolana action, with or without flue gas desulphurisation prods. or organic polymers. The preffd. material for the watertight enclosure consists of organic polymers, calcium stearate, silicone oil, wax or waterproof mixts. with a hydraulic or puzzolana binding action

Description

The present invention relates to a method for depositing filter dust from waste incineration systems used in mechanical and / or electrosta tables of smoke evacuation. In garbage burners plants and waste-to-energy plants with dry or quasi dry flue gas cleaning fall next to the un problematic slags (approx. 90%) with filter dusts high levels of chloride and considerable amounts of Heavy metal. In addition, these dusts mostly contain large amounts of excess absorbent in Form of calcium hydroxide. These filter dusts fall into approx. 9% and prepare for their composition and Features significant landfill problems. Eventually falls in some waste incineration plants and waste-to-energy plants still a residual product at Flue gas scrubbing. The residues from this amount to approximately 1% of the resulting solids.

So far, the filter dusts have been partly together with the slag mixed and deposited above ground. These However, common landfill is now in some Federal states have been banned. Some of them Filter dust also supplied with water until it is dust-free stirs and ver in above ground hazardous waste landfills brings. In some cases, these filter dusts are in Containers packed and packed in underground landfills brings, but this is associated with considerable costs and a lot of the scarce space in underground landfills needs.

It is known to filter dust from waste incineration leach systems out, and thereby in particular the components soluble in dilute acids to ex  trahieren. The undissolved residues are we considerably less problematic and can be deposited more easily be. However, they are still not suitable to be taken to simple landfills.

Attempts have continued to be made, high filter dust containing chloride and calcium sulfate from waste incineration plants with a hydraulic Mix binders like cement and let them set. The resulting products, however, have proven to be proven to be completely unstable since it was already short time later bloat, drizzle again and through the Rain can be drained completely.

The invention has set itself the task of the depo nation of filter dusts from waste incineration plants to improve and simplify. The depo be more secure than previous procedures ren, the waste introduction rate into the landfill end product be as high as possible and therefore a ge as possible occupy a small volume of landfill space. Furthermore should the proportion of binding agent related to the landfill product should be kept as small as possible. Despite the mixture should bind well at the end.

Intensive investigations of various filter dusts from Have waste incineration plants and waste incineration plants show that this problem can be solved by the filter dust after an aqueous leaching under Addition of inorganic binders according to Proctor ver sealed and deposited above ground.

In particular, cement is used as the inorganic binder or pozzolanic fly ash with or without addition finely divided flue gas desulfurization products in question.

The method according to the invention makes it possible to the volume of the products to be deposited by more than Reduce 50%. You also get a surface Chen reduction of the solidification product in the Compared to the state of seizure by several powers of ten.

The products thus obtained are light and safe manageable, can be transported inexpensively and easily be brought to the landfill.

To carry out the method according to the invention the filter dust after an aqueous leaching mixed with inorganic binders.

The transport can then take place without further moistening gene, which saves considerable tonnage.

The well-setting mixtures are deposited and subsequently Proctor compressed to a maximum, and are then also from Surface water barely drained.
