Oberhalb der Membran eines Telephons (s. beiliegende Zeichnungen) ist, concentrisch die Oeffnung des Schalltrichters umschliefsend, ein eiserner Ringr von winkelförmigem (| ) Querschnitt angebracht, Fig. 1. Dieser Ring ist umschlossen von einer Inductionsrolle aus feinem isolirten Kupferdraht, in welcher durch die sogenannte Ueberregung, d. i. durch die von der Membran noch nicht gebundenen Kraftlinien, Inductionsströme erzeugt werden. Diese Ströme werden in den Hauptstromkreis der auf dem Magneten befestigten Inductionsrollen eingeschaltet. Anstatt des Ringes von winkelförmigem (| ) Querschnitt kann auch, besonders bei Anwendung hufeisenförmiger Magnete im Telephon, oberhalb der Membran, die Oeffnung des Schalltrichters concentrisch umschliefsend, ein Ring R, Fig. 2 und 3, angeordnet werden. Dieser Ring trägt an den Stellen, die den beiden Polen des im Telephon befindlichen Hufeisenmagneten gegenüberstehen, je einen Ansatz α von der Form des Stückes eines Kreisringes. Jeden dieser beiden Ansätze umgiebt eine Inductionsspule (in der Figur nur durch die unterbrochenen Linien angedeutet), welche in entgegengesetzter Richtung gewickelt sind. Die Anfänge der beiden Spulen sind mit einander verbunden, die Enden werden in den Hauptstromkreis der auf dem Magneten befestigten Inductionsrollen eingeschaltet. The beginnings of the two coils are connected to each other, the ends are switched into the main circuit of the induction rollers attached to the magnet.

Patent claim:

Arrangement of an iron ring, the cross-section of which can be different and which one carries one or more induction coils, concentrically above the membrane of a telephone surrounding the opening of the bell, to convert the overexcitation into induction currents.
