Abstract

A filter arrangement is described, having an upright filter with a filter housing and filter insert for cleaning lubricating oil, in particular in an internal combustion engine, and having a filter base, in which there are located a used oil channel, which opens out into a collection chamber directly below the filter insert, a clean oil channel and a drainage channel which leads downwards away from the collection chamber and in which a spring-loaded shut-off valve is arranged which is influenced by the oil pressure in the collection chamber, and which blocks the connection of the collection chamber to the drainage channel under normal operation and opens it when the filter insert has been removed. In order to remove the lubricating oil during a filter change before the filter insert has been taken out of the collection chamber and thus to prevent escape into the surroundings, the system oil pressure in the collection chamber holds the shut-off valve in the closed position which blocks the connection between the collection chamber and the drainage channel and, in the case of a pressureless collection chamber, the spring holds the shut-off valve in the open position which opens the connection.

Description

The invention relates to a filter arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a filter arrangement is from DE-OS 34 22 482 known. In this known filter arrangement has the elaborately built shut-off valve the on if you change the filter, emptying the inside of the filter housing via the drain channel. However, the shut-off valve is only activated by the Lift up the filter insert that is in the collection room and the one that may be open towards it Oil inside the filter housing can only while removing the filter insert in the Ab drain channel, so that there is a risk that the Filter change oil escapes into the open.

The invention has for its object a filter arrangement of the type mentioned with a simple to set up the shut-off valve with safe function, where the collection room and if necessary with this connected interior of the filter housing emptied of oil without removing the filter insert necessary is.

The object is according to the invention in the license plate of claim 1 specified features solved.

In the filter arrangement designed according to the invention opens the shut-off valve after reducing the system oil pressure in the collecting room the connection to the drainage channel, so that the Oil from the collecting chamber and the interior of the filter housing, provided it does not return to the collection room through a return lock is locked, can expire quickly. So that can when unscrewing a so-called filter cartridge, which as a construction unit of filter housing and filter insert on the Filter base is screwed on, no oil from the collector get out into the open. But also with a separate one Execution of filter housing and filter insert the collecting area before removing the filter set and the interior of the filter housing in front or during the removal of the filter insert emptied several times, so that no large amounts of oil ge with the removal of the filter insert outdoors can be long.

In claim 2, various are well suited Types of shut-off valve specified.

The shut-off valve specified in claim 3 provides a particularly simple structure that functions safely fulfilling and large passage cross sections Embodiment.

The invention is based on two in the Drawing illustrated embodiments closer explained.

Dabei zeigt:It shows:

Fig. 1 eine Filteranordnung mit einem als Baueinheit ausgeführten Filter und einem Absperrventil sowie Fig. 1 shows a filter arrangement with a filter designed as a unit and a shut-off valve and

Fig. 2 shows a filter assembly with a separate filter housing and filter insert with the shut-off valve of Fig. 1 in a partial section on a larger scale.

In the filter arrangement of FIG. 1, for example combustion engine for cleaning the lubricating oil of an internal, not shown, is the threaded as a unit from the filter housing 1 and filter element 2, so as the filter cartridge filters performed 3 obliquely by means of a thread 4 standing on a filter base 5. In this, a feed channel 6 for dirty oil, which opens into an annular channel 7 , a return channel 8 for pure oil and a discharge channel 9 starting from the annular channel 7 are arranged. The seal between the filter 3 and the filter base 5 is provided by a sealing ring 10 inserted radially outside the ring channel 7 . The dirty oil during operation of the internal combustion engine under a system pressure is pressed from the ring channel 7 via a backstop 11 into a dirty oil chamber 12 inside the filter housing 1 , from which it passes through the filter insert 2 into a clean oil chamber 13 and from this through a central one Thread 4 supporting socket 14 of the filter base 5 flows into the return channel 8 .

The entire space between the feed channel 6 and the backstop 11 including the ring channel 7 forms a collecting space 15th From this goes in its lowest area of the drain channel 9 , at the beginning of which a shut-off valve 16 is installed, the structure and function of which is described in connection with FIG. 2.

In the filter arrangement of FIG. 2, filter base 5 and filter housing 1 are made in one piece, the latter being closable from above by a cover, not shown. When changing the filter, only the filter insert 2 is pulled out upwards. The dirty oil chamber 12 and the collecting chamber 15 can be separated from each other by the return lock 11 attached to the lower end of the filter insert 2 , in the absence of which not only the collecting chamber 15 , but also the entire interior of the filter housing 1 can be idle with the shut-off valve 16 open .

The shut-off valve 16 of FIG. 2 is designed as a spring-loaded poppet valve, which is guided with a shaft 17 in a section of the drain channel 9 and when the valve disk 19 is seated on a valve seat 20 from the outlet channel 9, this closes against the collecting space 15 . A on a shoulder 18 supported and on the valve plate 19 engaging spring 21 tries to keep the shut-off valve 16 in the open position, with spacers 22 attached to the upper edge of the valve plate 19 by abutment on a ring 23 fastened in the drain channel 9 to the stroke of the shut-off valve 16 limit above. When the shut-off valve 16 is open, the entire oil located in the interior of the filter housing 1 can flow through the gaps between the spacers 22 , around the valve plate 19 and through groove-shaped recesses 24 in the shaft 17 into the drain channel 9 in the collecting chamber 15 and in the absence of a backstop 11 . When the oil system pressure builds up in the collecting chamber 15 , the valve plate 19 is pressed against the force of the spring 21 on the valve seat 20 by this valve and thus the drain channel 9 is blocked, so that the oil must flow through the filter insert 2 into the return channel 8 . When the pressure in the collecting space 15 decreases after the internal combustion engine has stopped, the spring 21 lifts the valve plate 19 from the valve seat 20 and the shut-off valve 16 is opened again.
