Device for moving an artificial arm using a chest and back bandage. The invention relates to a device on an artificial arm in which both the elbow joint and the fingers of the artificial hand are moved by the muscles of the chest, back and shoulders. Instead of the fingers of the artificial hand, a working claw can of course also be operated. Devices are known in which the shoulder muscles is used for moving the person sitting at the artificial arm articulated parts, JE but these are at diesele devices is not a bandage, but rigid shoulder pads, which present the motion. On the other hand, a bandage is known that is placed around the chest, back and shoulders and moves the fingers of an artificial hand. In contrast to these known devices, the invention relates to a bandage which, due to its special arrangement, enables both the movement of the elbow joint and the fingers of the artificial hand.
On the drawing is a right artificial arm attached to the body
shown, namely: Fig.r the front view, Fig.a the side view,
Fig. 3 the back view.
h unter der Armhöhle hindurch schräg über den Rücken zu dem erwähnten Quergurt zurück;
The artificial arm consists of two known parts, the upper arm
a, which is put over the upper arm stump, and the forearm b, which with the help
a through bolt c is articulated to the upper arm. Will be carried
the arm of a bandage, one of which is part d as, cross strap over the neck of:
Shoulder to shoulder leads, and on which the upper arm a - in front by means of buckle e and
above its rear part by latch f - is attached. The other part h the
Bandage grips around the shoulder carrying the healthy arm and arrives as part
h under the arm cavity obliquely over the back to the mentioned cross belt back;
where it is attached near the shoulder carrying the artificial arm. At. the cross member
d a train g is connected, which is used to move the elbow joint while
on the bandage part h., which leads diagonally from the arm cavity to the cross member, a pull
i is buckled up, which is used to move the fingers of the art hand.
The movement of the elbow joint happens as follows: On the bolt c, through which the forearm hangs on the upper arm, sits a disk k, around which the train g is placed and on which it is fastened with its end. By pushing one or both shoulders forward, the train g is tensed, whereby the disc k is rotated and the forearm b is lifted, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. A. If you move your shoulders back, the forearm sinks under its own weight, and the pull g wraps itself around the disk k. In order to reduce friction, the train g leads over a roller 1 at the point where it enters the inside of the upper arm .
ihnen innewohnende eigene Federung. Zum Zwecke der Feststellung sind in den
Zug i Einkerbungen q eingeschaltet, in welche ein Bolzen r gedrückt
The fingers of the artificial hand m are moved by tendons known per se, which together result in the pull i, which is guided by a spring p and then leads from the inside of the upper arm to the bandage part 1a to which it is attached. If the bandas part h is stretched taut by pushing the healthy shoulder forward or by expanding the chest or by both , tension i is tensed so that the fingers of the hand close. The movement of artificial limbs by a train leading over a roller and the fixing of the limbs in the raised position is known per se. Depending on whether one lets the bandage part h become more or less slack, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. A and 3, the fingers of the hand will stretch out more or less; it was previously compressed when tensioning the train i, expands and releases the train i towards the hand. The fingers of the hand then stretch through their own inherent springiness. For the purpose of detection, notches q are switched on in the train i , into which a bolt r can be pressed. The bandage is equipped with soft pads at the points where the trains attack because of the pressure that occurs here.
