Abstract

The system has a probe unit carrying a sensor to detect objects in the vicinity and a transmitter to send signals to a remote receiver. The probe unit (12) may also be in the rocket or projectile and ejected in flight and parachuted to the ground. The probe has a base (15) from which it can be launched after alighting on the ground.
