Abstract

The unitary elastomeric body of the latching device has a principle plane parallel to the surface of a panel to be latched. At least one lip protrudes outwardly from the edge of the body both parallel and perpendicular to the principal plane. An inwardly directed surface of the lip (6) is cut to form a catch accommodating the thickness of a striker bar (3) to which the panel is to latched. A cam is defined by an outwardly directed surface of the lip, being angled to a plane parallel to the principal plane by between 15 and 75 deg.
