Besonders für Sicherheitssprengladungen ist es sehr wesentlich, daß die Wirkung der Zündung in einer kaum denkbaren kurzen Zeit sich auf die ganze Ladung erstreckt und hiermit auch eine Explosion einer auch weniger brisanten Sprengladung voll und ganz herbeiführt. Dies wird durch die erwähnte Anordnung zweier oder mehrerer Zündpillen innerhalb des Zünders oder der Zündmasse erreicht. Es ist nicht unbedingt erforderlich, daß man die Pillen innerhalb der Zündung vorsehen muß, unter Umständen genügt es, die Pillen an der Zündmasse zu lagern bzw. vorzusehen. Vorteilhaft bringt man um jede Zündpille sauerstoffabgebende Salze, wie Permanganate, Nitrate, Chlorate oder Perchlorate.
