Abstract

A point (51) to be punctured by a suction tube (52) in a liq. package of coated cardboard (50) is formed by rigidly supporting the tubular section of cardboard blank, glued or welded in the longitudinal direction at the point concerned. Then a recess is milled in the wall, without forming a through aperture. Typically the milling is carried out to halfway through, e.g. for a depth of 0.2 mm in a carton wall thickness of 0.4mm. The chips formed can be removed by suction, or a compressed air blasting.
