Procedure for increasing the draft by connecting a suction draft system in parallel

To produce the necessary draft for the evacuation of the fumes, one usually helps oneself
in such a way that inan generates the required train mechanically by

is justified by the fact that with increased operation the corresponding to the larger amount of gas

increased friction losses in the chimney:

that of a drainage channel with harmful resistances. The arrangement of the artificial

principal disadvantage that the natural draft of the chimney to generate draft
practically nothing contributes anymore.
It is obvious that the disadvantage of such an induced draft arrangement is thereby
to fix that the fan is no longer directly connected to the chimney

taking advantage of the natural draft of the chimney works, rather. parallel
to which: chimney is arranged, in such a way that, ß the fan from the; Fox canal
the boiler system at a suitable point by means of a special duct branch
sucks some of the flue gases and no longer passes them through the chimney,
but pushes directly into the open through a particularly short exhaust pipe. The chimney
it still sucks by means of its natural pulling effect and leads straight
as much smoke gases as how much it is able to dissipate. The rest of the smoke
the fan then promotes. Fan and chimney therefore only promote each one
a. Part of the total amount of gas to be discharged. It is clear that this causes the induced draft system
as well as. in terms of dimensioning and energy consumption is significantly more favorable
than with the arrangement in direct attachment to the chimney.
Verfahrens. The practical implementation of such an induced draft operation comes across
but difficulties, as the two trains actually work in parallel
of the chimney and the fan only possible: is if that of the two
generated negative pressures remain approximately the same, otherwise there is a risk of
that one train disturbs the work of the other. Because the draft of the chimney
depends on the external circumstances, which cannot be influenced at will,
so the invention according to the above-mentioned parallel work by the automatic
Adjustment of the negative pressure generated by the fan on the respective chimney draft
secured. The invention also relates to a facility for exercising this
Procedure.
The drawing shows one of the possible arrangements for execution
of the new process shown in a schematic manner.
A pressure difference meter d is installed in the smoke channel a of the chimney and clem smoke channel b of the fan c, which influences electrical contacts e. As soon as the pressure difference in the two trains exceeds a certain small amount, the contact device e is adjusted and one of the relays i or 1z excited by a current connection at the contact points g or f, whereby an auxiliary motor m an automatic electrical V creating device in a known manner in the let us leave one sense or the other '. From this auxiliary motor, by means of a worm gear or the like, an arbitrarily designed throttle element o built into the suction port of the fan c is adjusted until the contact is interrupted again, that is, until the negative pressure generated by the fan has adapted to that of the chimney. The throttle element, o can also be arranged in the pressure port of the fan. In addition, the from. The vacuum generated by the fan can also be achieved by regulating the number of revolutions of the drive motor of the fan. In this case, the automatic adjusting device no longer adjusts the throttle valve, but rather the speed controller of the drive motor. It is of course also possible, while maintaining the same control method, to use hydraulically or pneumatically operating automatic adjustment devices.
