Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf Farbbandkassetten mit den in den Oberbegriffen der Patentansprüche genannten Merkmalen.The invention relates to ribbon cartridges with the in the preambles of the features mentioned.

Bekanntlich werden auf dem Markt zwei grundsätzlich verschiedene Arten von Farbbandkassetten mit Endlosfarbbändern angeboten, nämlich solchen mit Nachtränkmöglichkeiten und solche ohne derartige Möglichkeiten. Farbbandkassetten mit Nachtränkmöglichkeiten werden im allgemeinen mit vorkonfektionierten Nachtränkpatronen ausgerüstet, wie sie zum Beispiel in der älteren, nicht vorveröffentlichten DE-OS 35 30 659 der Anmelderin beschrieben sind. Derartige Nachtränkpatronen werden in das Gehäuse der Farbbandkassette eingesetzt und besitzen in ihrem Innern ein farbspeicherndes Medium sowie ein Farbübertragungsmedium, das durch einen Farbzuführschlitz nach außen ragt und die Farbe an eine Antriebs- oder Andrückrolle weitergibt. Von dort gelangt die Farbe dann auf das Endlosfarbband. Ein sinnvoller Einsatz einer Nachtränkeinheit ist bisher nur bei endlos gewebten Farbbändern möglich gewesen. Bei durch Zusammenkleben zweier Enden eines gestreckten Bandes erzeugten Endlosfarbbändern hat sich hingegen gezeigt, daß ein Nachtränken nicht sinnvoll ist. Der Grund liegt darin, daß die Lebensdauer der Klebung speziell bei Verwendung auf Nadeldruckern eng begrenzt ist. Um dennoch die Anzahl der möglichen Anschläge auf einem annehmbaren Wert zu halten, erscheint es sinnvoller zu sein, ein längeres Endlosfarbband zu verwenden, dessen Klebestellen die Druckstation nicht so oft durchlaufen, als ein kürzeres nachzutränken, dessen Lebensdauer nach Verbrauch der ursprünglichen Tränkung nahezu abgelaufen ist. Da die Bezugsmöglichkeiten für endlos gewebte Farbbänder nicht überall auf der Welt gegeben sind, ergibt sich für die Hersteller die Notwendigkeit, bei gleichen äußeren Abmessungen und Anschlußmaßen Farbbandkassetten für beide Möglichkeiten herzustellen, da naturgemäß eine größere Länge auch einen größeren Vorratsraum benötigt. Das bedeutet, daß einmal ein Gehäuse mit einem vergleichsweise kleinen Vorratsraum und einer Montagemöglichkeit für eine Nachtränkpatrone und zum anderen ein Gehäuse mit einem vergleichsweise großen Vorratsraum herzustellen ist. Die Lösung ist grundsätzliche bei allen den Oberbegriffen der Patentansprüche entsprechenden Farbbandkassetten anwendbar, nicht jedoch bei solchen, die, wie in der WO 85/01 017 dargestellt, durch Rippen vom Vorratsraum abgetrennt sind und diesen daher gar nicht selbst begrenzen. In einem solchen Fall hätte ein Fortlassen der Nachtränkpatrone keinerlei Einfluß auf die Größe des Vorratsraumes. Bei der Erfindung stand nun die Überlegung Pate, daß ein einfaches Fortlassen einer Nachtränkpatrone zur Vergrößerung des Vorratsraumes sich aus verschiedenen Gründen auch bei anderen Konstruktionen verbietet. Ein Fortlassen ist z. B. dann nicht möglich, wenn die Nachtränkepatrone in einer Nebenfunktion zur federnden Abstützung eines Lagerbocks dient oder gar selbst als solcher ausgebildet ist (DE-OS 35 30 659). Schließlich ist das bloße Fortlassen einer Nachtränkpatrone, die an ein Gehäuse in irgendeiner Form nach außen angesetzt ist (EP-A1 01 67 892), nicht möglich. Da nun eine Nachtränkpatrone per se ein diskretes, entweder fest oder beweglich eingebautes Bauteil ist und wegen der Möglichkeit der Vorkonfektionierung, d. h. einer Befüllung mit Farbe vor der Endmontage, auch ein komplettes Bauteil sein muß und andererseits Lagerböcke, Schwinghebel usw. mit der Nachtränkepatrone zusammenwirken oder gar in Baueinheit durch diese dargestellt werden, erschien es zweckmäßig, die Vielfalt der möglichen Varianten in Art eines Baukastensystems mit einem einheitlichen Gehäuse und gegeneinander austauschbaren Bauteilen zu ermöglichen. Die notwendige Vergrößerung des Vorratsraums ergibt sich jeweils dadurch, daß beim Ersatz einer Nachtränkepatrone das andere Bauteil im wesentlichen nur die Kontur einer oder mehrerer vom Vorratsraum abgewandter Wände der Nachtränkpatrone besitzt, wobei alle sonstigen Funktionen beibehalten werden. Eine Farbbandkassette 1 besitzt ein Gehäuse 2, in dessen Inneren ein Vorratsraum 3 für ein gestopftes endlos gewebtes Endlosfarbband 4 angeordnet ist. Das Endlosfarbband 4 wird aus dem Vorratsraum 3 durch einen Arm 5 und eine an dessen Ende angeordnete Entnahmeöffnung 6 entnommen und einer nicht näher dargestellten Druckstation zugeführt. Von dort gelangt das Endlosfarbband 4 zu einer Einführöffnung 7 in einem zweiten Arm 8 zurück und von dort zu einer vor dem Vorratsraum 3 angeordneten Transporteinrichtung, die aus einer maschinenseitig antreibbaren Antriebsrolle 9 und einer damit im Eingriff stehenden Andrückrolle 10 besteht, die in Lagerböcken 11 und 12 gelagert sind. Es dürfte klar sein, daß der Begriff "Rolle" auch Ritzel oder Stachelräder umfaßt. Während der Lagerbock 11 gehäusefest angeordnet ist, ist der Lagerbock 12 integrierter Bestandteil einer Nachtränkpatrone 13, die ein etwa quaderförmiges Aussehen hat und auf einem als Lagerstelle dienenden Zapfen 14 drehbar gelagert ist. Die Nachtränkpatrone 13 besitzt neben Deckel und Boden in erster Linie eine den Vorratsraum 3 begrenzende Vorderwand 15, eine gegenüberliegende Rückwand 16, eine dem Lagerbock 12 benachbarte Seitenwand 17 sowie eine gegenüberliegende Seitenwand 18 mit einer Bohrung 19, die zur Aufnahme des Zapfens 14 dient. Im Inneren der Nachtränkpatrone 13 ist ein Speichermedium 20 in Form eines Filzes, Faservlieses oder dergleichen untergebracht, das zur Speicherung von Farbe geeignet ist. Die Abgabe von Farbe erfolgt über ein Farbübertragungsmittel 21, z. B. einen Filz, durch einen Farbzuführschlitz 22 auf die Andrückrolle 10. In einem Spalt 23 zwischen Rückwand 16 und Gehäuse 2 ist eine Blattfeder 24 untergebracht, die durch Verschwenken der Nachtränkpatrone 13 die Andrückrolle 10 gegen die Antriebsrolle 9 preßt. Da keine Vorderwand und natürlich auch kein Deckel und kein Boden vorhanden sind, ergibt sich ein wesentlich vergrößerter Vorratsraum 30, der zur Aufnahme eines zusammengeklebten Endlosfarbbandes 31 dient. Ein Lagerbock 32 ist integrierter Bestandteil des Schwinghebels 26, so daß bezüglich der Transporteinrichtung der Schwinghebel 26 genau die Funktion der Nachtränkpatrone übernimmt, wobei er ebenfalls von einer Blattfeder 33 angedrückt wird. Es ist erwähnenswert, daß sich im Bereich zwischen Vorderwand 15 und Rückwand 16 im Gehäuse keinerlei Querrippen oder dergleichen befinden. Vielmehr sind deckel- und bodenseitig glatte Flächen vorgesehen, die Faltungen des Endlosfarbbandes nicht verhindern. Wenn in diesem Zusammenhang von "entsprechenden Konturen" die Rede ist, sind damit nur die groben Umrisse gemeint, da die Formen sich aus Gründen der Festigkeit und der Herstellmöglichkeiten etwas unterscheiden können.In FIG. 2, a ribbon cassette 25 is shown with the same housing 2. Die Vorderwand 41 begrenzt einen Vorratsraum 42, der zur Aufnahme eines endlos gewebten Endlosfarbbandes 43 dient. Die Andrückrolle 10 ist in einem schwenkbaren Lagerbock 44 gelagert, der von einer Feder 45, die sich an der Vorderwand 41 der Nachtränkpatrone 38 abstützt, belastet wird. Speichermedium 46 und Farbübertragungsmedium 47 dienen zum Speichern und Übertragen von Farbe auf die Andrückrolle 10. Zur Befestigung dienen wiederum die Stifte 39. Die Feder 45 stützt sich gegen einen aus zwei Rippen 54 und 55 gebildeten Schenkel des Füllstücks 51 ab.
