Das übliche Kalandrierverfahren zur Erzielung von Hochglanz­ oberflächen bei lackbeschichteten Bogen besteht darin, daß zunächst eine Schicht aus einem thermisch erweichbaren Lack auf die Bogenoberfläche aufgebracht wird und daß nach dem Er­ härten dieser Lackschicht der Bogen durch einen Kalander ge­ führt wird, der eine beheizte Hochglanzwalze und eine ihr ge­ gegenüberliegende Gegendruckwalze aufweist. Diese erhitzte Hoch­ druckwalze erweicht eine dünne Oberflächenschicht der Lack­ schicht und glättet sie unter der Wirkung der Gegendruck­ walze. Diese Bogen mit der noch pastösen Lackschicht laufen in den Kalander 1 ein und gelangen mit obenliegender Lackschicht zwi­ schen die Hochdruckwalze 9 und die Gegendruckwalze 10. Die Hoch­ druckwalze 9 ist mit einer in Form von Kühlschlangen angedeuteten Kühlvorrichtung 11 versehen. Durch diese gekühlte Oberfläche der Hochdruckwalze 9 erfolgt mit dem Glätten der pastösen Lack­ schicht auf den Bogen auch eine oberflächliche Aushärtung des Lacks.
