Verfahren und Gerät zur Erleichterung des kreuzweisen Umschnürens von Paketen o. dgl. mit einem 1Vletallband. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf :das kreuzweise Umschnüren von Paketen o. dgl. mit einem Metallband, und zwar von Hand unter Vermittelung solcher Geräte bekannter Art, welche das Umschnüren durch eine um 36o° urn das Paket herum bewegbare Bandzuführungsvorrichtung erleichtern, wobei während der ersten Umschnürung das freie Bandende festgelegt ist. Wegen .der Eigenart des Metallbandes als Umschnürungsmittel verwendet man beim Verpacken bekanntlich z. B. ringförmige Verschlusstücke, durch welche .das .Metall'band schleifenartig hindurchgezogen und an welchem die beiden Bandenden befestigt werden. Die Erfindung bezweckt, bei Benutzung von Umschnürungsgeräten der eingangs bezeichneten Art dieses Hindurchziehen und Befestigen des Metallbandes in einfacher und zweckentsprechender Weise durchzuführen.
