Description
The invention relates to a method for controlling the Welding process in short arc welding with rule moderately changing arc burning phase and short circuit phase.
The momentary ver changes with short arc welding course of the welding current and the welding voltage in the individual phases of a welding cycle. As soon as the light bow has melted a drop, it dips into it Melt pool and the arc extinguishes. As a result of The surface tension of the weld pool flows as it melts zene electrode material into the weld pool. Through the short conclusion, the welding tension drops, the sweat current increases after an exponential function. Of the liquid drops is due to Joule's warming heated during the passage of electricity. In the drop forming at the same time, the pinch force, the constriction, increases and the temperature. The molten pool on the electrode side accelerated strongly towards the workpiece.
The thinning drop neck heats up so much that it evaporates and ignites a new arc. The sweat voltage then rises to its maximum value while the Welding current strength after an exponential function drops. A new drop then forms and the cycle starts again gets about 50 to 150 times per second.
The main disadvantage with short arc welding is: of spattering. Splashes are drops of metal made by are thrown away from the weld pool or the electrode and outside the seam or on the already solidified sweat approach. These splashes can affect the weld quality influence and cause costs through rework and cause loss of material in any case. Through this Splashing will also make the seam look negatively affected and it forms a considerable Ge noise during welding.
The cause of these adverse phenomena in the short light Arc welding is the same in the high welding current rapidly increasing welding voltage for each Ignition of the arc. To avoid these disadvantages it already with electronically controlled welding current sources, mainly known for transistorized current sources, Interventions in the current flow to make the current fall to re-ignite or re-ignite always ignite at a reduced current to lead. A method is known in which the beginning of the Short circuit phase is detected and for an adjustable time a high current pulse is triggered while in the remaining time, only an arc maintenance current flows. However, it is a prerequisite that the high current pulse ends exactly when reigniting, which is very difficult can be reached. For this reason, this ver driving is not enforced in practice.
According to a further process, it is also known the span increasing again at the end of the short circuit phase voltage, then the rate of power drop to control. The disadvantage of this method is in that a drop in power only occurs when the Voltage has already reached a predetermined value.
According to DE 32 19 726 A1 and DE 24 31 702 A1 further control and regulation procedures in short light arc welding known in which the arc voltage or the average arc power are taken as a basis.
Weiterhin kann das Verhältnis der zugeführten Energie gemäß US-A 43 00 036 während der Kurzschluß- und Lichtbogenphase eingestellt und können die Stromanstieg- und -abfallzeiten beeinflußt werden (DE 32 20 590 A1).Furthermore, the ratio of the energy supplied can according to US-A 43 00 036 during the short circuit and arc phase and can adjust the current rise and fall times are influenced (DE 32 20 590 A1).
The invention has for its object a method for Propose control of a short arc with which not only the formation of splashes is largely eliminated and get a flawless seam and the volume at Welding is reduced, but also the ener energy consumption is significantly reduced.
This task is characterized by the characteristics of Part of claim 1 solved.
According to the method according to the invention, the mo mental welding current and the current welding voltage summarizes and from these two values the mo mental welding performance calculated. The control takes place hand the welding power such that the welding current or the welding voltage is regulated so that a predetermined maximum welding power is not exceeded. The for short arc welding used welding power source consists of the usual assemblies, such as welding voltage regulator, current regulator for current limitation, slope limiter in the current path for choke simulation and power assembly. In addition to this is a device for Detection of the instantaneous value of the welding power on builds, the output power of the welding power source compared with a predetermined setpoint and preferred by intervening in the welding current control set value is limited.
With such an arrangement, welding tests were carried out with CO 2 protective gas, the instantaneous value of the power when re-igniting being reduced to 60% of the original value without having to change the other welding parameters. Furthermore, a greatly reduced spatter formation could be observed, at the same time the volume of the welding noise decreased significantly and the seam appearance was significantly improved. With thicker wires, a stable, trouble-free short-arc process can thus be operated at lower currents, and mixed gases can be used in addition to CO₂ as a protective gas.
The regulation can be carried out in a suitable manner, whereby advantageously timed actuators with small Re action time can be used. It is also possible to use linear Transistor controller to use.

In Fig. 1, a welding current source is shown, which is from an input unit 1 for the reference variables, which acts on a voltage regulator 2 , which is followed by a steepness limiter 3 for the welding current and a current regulator 4 . The input unit 1 is connected to the voltage regulator 2 via a line 16 and to the current regulator 4 via a line 17 . The above-mentioned control elements act on a power module 5 , which supplies the welding process 6 with the required welding current. In the welding process line 7 leading to the welding process 6 , a current detection unit 8 is switched on, from which the actual welding current to the current regulator 8 is detected via a line 9 . Furthermore, the actual welding voltage is tapped from a line 10 and fed to the voltage regulator 2 . The welding current source dealt with so far is a known welding current source which is used for short-arc welding. In the known welding current source, a power limiter 11 is inserted, to which the guide variables are fed via a line 12 and the instantaneous welding voltage and welding current values are supplied via lines 13 , 14 . The water power limiter 11 is in turn connected via a line 15 to the current regulator 4 .
Die in der Schweiß stromkurve mit den Buchstaben a bis f dargestellten Punkte geben folgenden Ablauf an.In FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of the welding current, the welding voltage as the welding power in each phase of the welding cycle is illustrated. The points shown in the welding current curve with the letters a to f indicate the following sequence.
- a) Der Lichtbogen schmilzt einen Tropfen auf. a) The arc melts a drop.
- b) Der Tropfen taucht ins Schmelzbad und der Lichtbogen verlischt.b) The drop dips into the weld pool and the arc goes out.
- c) Der Tropfen fließt ins Schmelzbad.c) The drop flows into the melt pool.
- d) Der flüssige Tropfen wird beim Stromdurchgang er hitzt.d) The liquid drop becomes when the current passes is heating.
The drop neck heats up so much that it ver steams and a new arc ignites.
Es bildet sich ein neuer Tropfen.f) The voltage rises to its maximum value, the Current drops. A new drop is formed.
So with a conventional welding power source the welding current is constant at the beginning and then increases NEN maximum value and falls after an exponential function (f) back to its initial value, whereupon the cycle then repeats itself. The under the Stromver voltage shown initially has a relatively high Starting point and then drops to a minimum value, then slowly rises again and reaches its maximum worth (e) as soon as a new arc ignites. The voltage then slowly falls back to the initial value, whereupon the process is repeated. If you look at the on the associated power below curve, so shows that the performance decreases a little at first, then to steadily increase to a maximum value and then slowly again after exceeding the maximum value fall back to the initial value.
The hatched areas shown in FIG. 2, namely in the current, voltage and power curve, are omitted if the welding process is controlled according to the invention, in which the power is limited to a maximum value. The welding current is reduced to a lower value at the moment when a predetermined and adjustable value is exceeded in the power curve. As a result, the peak power is removed, which, as shown by the hatched areas in the current and voltage curve, results in a reduction in the current while at the same time reducing the welding voltage. This measure significantly reduces the formation of spatter and improves the seam appearance. In addition, the volume during welding is greatly reduced, as is the energy consumption. Compared to the known methods of intervention in the welding current or the welding voltage, the method proposed by the invention has the advantage that no complicated measurements are necessary for the detection of the ignition of a new arc and the detection of the short-circuit phase, but only electrical ones Quantities such as the current welding voltage and the current welding current are recorded and the product of both is used as a controlled variable. This method can be carried out by means of a slightly modified conventional welding power source, using only a power limiter.
