Abstract
The longitudinal lying traction motor has a rotor driving a pinion shaft, one end of which is located by bearings (4,5) in the gear box (3), and is located in at least one further place, i.e. by a bearing (19) in the motor. A combination of the locating positions effects an integration of the motor. An external rotor motor (2) is employed, the outside rotor cage (11) of which is securely connected to the pinion shaft (1) across a clamping ring (13). The stator (16) of the motor (10) is fixed on a hollow cylinder (18). USE/ADVANTAGE - New type in line drive which assumes the advantages of both types, i.e. dispenses with an outer bearing, gives more torque, giving increased power in a restricted space.
