Description

Insulating bodies for electric machines and the like as a substitute for mica. It is known that as an insulating body for electrical machines and the like. B. as Isolation between two slats of one. Commutator layers of varnish paper, Bakelite, Pertinax and resinite paper, for example, are used. All of these insulation bodies but have not proven themselves without fire-resistant intermediate layers, since longer Operating time or, if the machines are overloaded, a charring of the insulation just like the pressboard, vulcanized fiber, etc. used earlier.

It is also known to impregnate asbestos with enamel paint to paint on small sides and to burn this enamel lacquer onto the surface, in order to obtain a substitute for mica in this way. The first mentioned method is quite cumbersome, and its results have so far not been satisfactory. That The latter process: but also has its disadvantages, because the enamel paint has to be applied quite thickly and often bumps arise when firing, as a result of which cavities form on the surface next to the elevations. Further draws the Emai4.lelack sometimes together, @ so that there are places without varnish. By all, such errors will charring in these places: the insulation will occur, which prevents the machine from working properly. Also is on such places the material is too soft, and the copper lamellas would and over-tightening in such places.

The invention is an insulating body in which all of these Defects are corrected. The invention consists in that the new insulating body Alternating layers of weak asbestos strips and weak ones with shellac or bakelite coated or splattered lacquer paper, which layers are pressed together under pressure and heat to form a homogeneous plate. The so on Mechanically produced insulating body forms without any further addition Impeccable insulating material that can be produced cheaply by machine. The on Shellac or Bakelite paste applied to the individual layers of paper, which at the same time serves as an adhesive, is completely absorbed by the asbestos strip, which is chosen so weak is that he is drenched through and through. This connects the individual Asbestos and paper strips intimately together, so @ that one in terms of isolation and accurate manufacture of a completely fair product.

The shellac or bakelite used for brushing or spraying has the advantage over your enamel lacquer, d: ate it in the sprayed or painted on There were neither elevations nor free areas, which are common with enamel paint forming by contraction. Shellac and Bakelite are spread out - a lot even and devoted therefore a flawless one under pressure and heat Isolation.

As a result of the - thinness of the individual layers can be any desired Thickness of the insulation panel is strictly adhered to, without the need for the outsides to be provided with lacquer paper or the like.

With the plates obtained in this way, depending on their thickness, slip ring hubs, 1% collector hubs etc. insulated, pipes wound and plates for insulating lamella to be made into lamella.
