Device for the undisturbed recording of sound waves and other pressure waves, especially from underwater sound waves.
August 1917 beansprucht.According to the Union Treaty of June 2, 1911, priority is due to this application of the application in the United States of America dated August 20, 1917.
The invention relates to devices for recording sound waves or other pressure waves and especially on the elimination of disruptive and undesirable Vibrations, so that the vibrations which are to be absorbed

In particular, the device is used to accommodate Underwater signals or for submarine detection by; those generated by these Equipment table.
Gemäß der Erfindung werden die Schall-According to the invention, the sound
Da dann der Kommutator mit dem zu empfangenden Schall die gleiche Periodenzahl hat, so sind alle Geräusche oder Töne anderer Frequenzen im wesentlichen ausgeschaltet.waves through an electrical device such as an electric vibrator, received, and the receiver is connected to a pair of commutators, each of which is individually set to a desired one Period number can be set, with the current from the second commutator reaches a display device such as a telephone. The number of periods ίο of the second commutator is set so that that it gives an audible frequency, preferably one for which the human ear is particularly sensitive to the frequency of the first commutator is set so that the sound to be recorded is at its greatest volume achieved. Since the commutator then has the same number of periods as the sound to be received, all noises are or Sounds of other frequencies are essentially switched off.
The figure shows schematically an example of an embodiment when using an electric vibrator and two commutators or equivalent devices. In the figure, 11 is a sound receiver for receiving sound waves or other pressure waves, for example an electric vibrator. This vibrator 11 is connected by lines 12 and 13 to a commutator or rectifier 14, the frequency of which is set by the controller 15. The lines from the commutator are connected via choke coils 16, i6 'to a second commutator 18, the frequency of which is set by the controller 23. The reactors 16 and 16 'may be shunted through the capacitors 17, 17'. The line from the second commutator 18 can be connected directly to a telephone 22. An amplifier 19 is expediently connected between the commutator 18 and the telephone 22. In use, the commutator 18 is set to a suitable frequency to which the ear is particularly sensitive. The commutator 14 is then adjusted by the controller 15 so that the observer hears the signal or the noise which is to be heard most strongly. Beispiels- 5>', the sound generated in the detection by a submarine, which emits a tone of the frequency of 30 times per second, a current in the vibrator 11, which is converted by the commutator 14 in DC or slowly pulsating current the choke coils 16, i6 ', j, which may have a high impedance, goes without loss. The direct current wind j then converted during passage through the second communication '■■ tator 18 in a current of relatively high frequency and amplified by the amplifier 19 before it arrives at the telephone, and generates ■ j in this a good audible sound. Since the water noises or other disturbing vibrations have frequencies that differ from the frequency 30, they are not converted into direct current or slowly pulsating current by the commutator 14, but remain alternating currents which flow through the choke coils 16, 16 ' and are throttled with the assistance of the capacitors 17, 17 'so that only a small fraction of these interference currents can get into the amplifier 19. The connection of two commutators to the display device forms a simple and good means by which any interfering currents can be switched off so that only the noises to be discovered reach the observer.
