Abstract

1. Use of an aqueous solution containing at least one alkali hydroxide and at least one alkali nitrate for making up the salt content of molten salt baths which contain alkali hydroxide and alkali nitrate by atomising the solution onto the hot bath surface, characterized in that the solution is saturated in alkali hydroxide alkaki nitrate and optionally further compounds to such an extent that it is liquid at 508C, is still sufficiently viscous for atomisation and is stable and is free from sediment at between 50 and 1108C.
