Zweckmäßig ist der Anschlag 18 scheibenförmig mit abgerundeten Kanten ausgebildet. Er begrenzt beim Einstechen der Nadel in das Gewebe die Einstechtiefe, und falls die Nadel abbricht, was meist am Einspannende erfolgt, ermöglicht er es, den abgebrochenen Teil sicher aus dem Gewebe herauszuziehen, so daß ein nachträglicher operativer Eingriff zur Entfernung der Nadelspitze unnötig wird.
