1, 8500 Nuremberg 20 procedure for the production of shoe insoles In the patent (patent application P 34 05 964.4) describes a method for producing shoe insoles with a precise fit, which is characterized by the following process steps: a) Manufacture a Pair of insoles with an approximate fit made of a plastic, hardenable, elastic material even after hardening; b) inserting the sole in individually Selected shoes and, if necessary, covering with auxiliary soles; c) loading the insoles with the feet by putting on the shoes until they are exactly shaped the soles of the feet; d) hardening of the insoles by cold or hot reaction.
The preferred material for performing this process is in patent application P 34 05 964.4 an elastically curing silicone rubber suggested. Leafy graphite is preferably added to the material given, after which the heat treatment then take place by microwave irradiation can.
Through further experiments it has now been found that it may can be advantageous instead of the hardenable material, so for example of the mentioned silicone rubber to use a thermoplastic material. For example, the materials known per se can be used as the thermoplastic material Polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene or polyurethanes into consideration, where all of these materials mentioned either as full materials or as foamed Materials can be used.
The use of such thermoplastic materials for the execution of the method has the advantage that the method can usually be carried out more quickly and that a wider range of applicable materials is available. The method is then carried out in such a way that also initially soles with approximate Made to fit and this before or after inserting into the selected shoes be brought to softening temperature by microwave irradiation.
If the heating takes place outside of the shoes, they must be pretreated in this way Soles are inserted into the shoes. If the heating occurs inside the shoes, so the shoe is immediately ready to be adjusted, which is how the subject of the main patent by putting on the shoes.
As already suggested in the main patent, the heating should also be used here done by microwave irradiation. This known method has the Advantage that the heat does not have to be introduced from the outside into the inside of the sole, but immediately inside the material, evenly distributed over the cross-section arises. For most thermoplastic materials, however, it is necessary to in the material Incorporate foreign matter with high microwave absorption. The thermoplastic polymer alone usually absorbs the microwaves not and therefore cannot be heated by this either. The warming occurs, however one, if one of the substances mentioned is incorporated, whereby the heat generation then limited to the places where there are substances with high microwave absorption are located. The substances with high microwave absorption are water or moisture Containing substances into consideration, such as cereal flour, plaster of paris. or the like. or graphite, preferably flake graphite, sometimes also carbon black and similar substances.
The application of the method of microwave irradiation for heating The shoe insole made of thermoplastic material also offers the The advantage that the sole partially softens in this way in the desired places can be, while in other places their usual hardness or compressive strength retains. It does this by absorbing substances with high levels of microwaves locally uneven distribution, i.e. at selected points in the material be incorporated. The positions can be determined beforehand by they are punched out in the desired shape, the punched areas then be replaced by another material with an incorporated absorbent.
The method described here is particularly advantageous for Use on ski boots. Today ski boots are practically always made of plastics, made of substances that do not inherently have any microwave absorption. Is in Such a ski boot has a sole made of thermoplastic material with uniformly or incorporated at locally selected locations fabrics higher Microwave absorption inserted, so it is sufficient to adapt the sole to the individual The foot of the later shoe wearer to put the entire shoe in the microwave oven and irradiate a few seconds to a maximum of minutes. The shoe itself is made of this treatment does not affect; only the shoe insole is attached to those Softens places where substances of high microwave absorption are located. is the treatment is completed and the shoe is therefore still very cold (it is to room temperature), the shoe can be put on, with only the softened part of the insole is deformed according to the shape of the foot. try have shown that the amount of heat stored in the sole is small, so that on Foot itself does not cause an uncomfortable feeling of warmth.
The strength of such, made of thermoplastic material Depending on the application, shoe insoles are between 1 and 20 mm; higher strengths are also executable, but in most cases do not result in an additional one Effect. Depending on the material, the temperature of the insole must be around 80 ° C 1600C can be increased. This temperature is particularly important for foam-like materials completely harmless, as the materials have low thermal conductivity and only a very thin surface zone comes into contact with the foot itself.
