Abstract
Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung von warmgewalzten StangenProcess for the production of hot rolled bars
The invention relates to methods for producing from microalloyed Steels rolled bars with features as in the preambles of the claims 1 to 4 indicated.
Statically and / or dynamically heavy-duty rod-shaped machine parts such as screws, axles, shafts, torsion spring bars or the like. Are usually made of Bars made from heat-treated steels that have been hot-rolled and tempered. Such steels are relatively expensive because they contain up to several percent alloying elements and require a considerable amount of energy-consuming heat treatment. It was true already proposed, for heavy-duty machine parts, micro-alloyed steels forged pearlitic to use. So far, however, no methods have become known with which the high strength necessary for such rod-shaped machine parts at the same time with a high impact strength could have been achieved. Only this would have a safe use of micro-alloyed steels, especially for extremely heavy-duty steels and also for relatively large machine parts of the specified type. One aim of the invention was to remedy this situation.
It is accordingly the object of the invention for the production of statically and / or dynamically heavy-duty rod-shaped machine parts to provide rolled bars from micro-alloyed steels and to create processes with which strength strengths not achieved for such steels according to previous methods and toughness values are achievable in that in the bars - the yield point remains almost the same from the edge to the core or decreases only slightly toward the core, which can be a maximum of 20% with particularly high marginal values and large dimensions can, - the proportional limit at low manganese content is almost the same and at higher manganese content is only slightly lower than the yield point and also how the latter falls correspondingly towards the core, - the ratio of the yield point to Breaking strength is always greater than 0.65 and can go up to about 0.8.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the method according to the claims 1 to 4 drawn. Advantageous embodiments of these methods are set out in the subclaims specified.
Nachstehend sind die erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren detailliert beschrieben. The methods according to the invention are described in detail below.
The processes according to the invention are generally used for the production of hot-rolled products Rods, from which rod-shaped statically and / or dynamically heavy-duty machine parts can be manufactured, which are screws, shafts, axles, torsion spring bars or the like.
This exemplary enumeration of machine parts is intended whose Kind, however, in no way restrict it, only possible applications of the after show the method according to the invention rolled bars.
For bars and machine parts to be manufactured from them with a cross-section A microalloyed steel is used up to approx. 200 cm2, which (given in percent by weight) 0.3 to 0.65% carbon, less than 1.2% silicon, 0.3 to 0.8% manganese, less than 0.065% sulfur, a total of 0 to 0.7% chromium and / or nickel and / or copper and / or molybdenum, 0.005 to 0.025% nitrogen, and as fine-grain forming and / or precipitation hardening elements total 0.05 to 0.20% vanadium and / or niobium and / or titanium and / or aluminum and / or zirconium, furthermore 0.0005 to 0.005% boron, The remainder has iron and impurities caused by the melting process, with the chromium and Total manganese content is not greater than 1.0%.
Bars are rolled from such a steel on a rolling mill in such a way that the rolling thereof within a temperature range of 800 OC to 1150 0c is finished. Then these are still one in the range mentioned bars having horizontal end rolling temperature are cooled in a controlled manner, namely a) by means of a gaseous or liquid coolant or atomized as a spray mist, b) with one in the bar material used, avoiding a noteworthy one Bainite formation, precipitation hardening and / or Fine grain formation as well as the most complete possible ferritic-pearlitic structure causing the cooling rate from about 1.5 "C to 10 ° C per second, c) to a temperature which is around at least 50" C is below the temperature at which the transformation of the structure into ferrite and Perlite is finished.
Such controlled cooling as described above is also in the case of rods of the same material and cross-section with the same outstanding To carry out results in which the rolling is not at the for the strived for Strength and toughness required temperature in the range already mentioned is terminable.
In this case, after hot rolling, the bars are given a special Subjected to heat treatment and, starting from a temperature at which the The structure is ferritic-pearlitic, again to a temperature in the range between 800 "C and 100000 heated. Based on a temperature lying in this range are then the rods by a gaseous or liquid or as a spray atomized coolant or controlled by fluidized bed cooling at a rate cooled from 1.5 "C to 10 ° C per second.
Another case is for bars and machine parts to be made from them with any cross-section a microalloyed steel is used which (indicated in percent by weight) 0.3 to 0.65% carbon, less than 1.2% silicon, more than 0.8% manganese, less than 0.065% (continued on page 5 of the original Registration) Sulfur, a total of 0 to 0.7% chromium and / or nickel and / or copper and / or molybdenum, 0.005 to 0.025% nitrogen, and as fine-grain and / or precipitation hardening elements in total 0.05 to 0.20% vanadium and / or Niobium and / or titanium and / or aluminum and / or zirconium, furthermore 0.0005 to 0.005 % Boron, the remainder iron and impurities from the melting process, the Chromium and manganese content in total not large. than 2.0%.
In this case, too, the steel mentioned is made on a rolling mill Bars rolled, so that here too the rolling of the same in a temperature range has ended between 800 OC and 1150 OC.
Then, starting from a still in the specified range lying roller temperature controlled cooled by a gaseous or coolant, liquid or atomized as a spray mist, with one in the rod material Precipitation hardening and / or avoidance of significant bainite formation Fine grain formation and a ferritic - pearlitic structure that is as complete as possible effecting cooling rate of about 0.5 to 5 OC per second, to at least 50 OC below the temperature at which the transformation into ferrite and pearlite ended is.
This cooling as described above is also with such Rods of the same material and cross-section with equally excellent results to carry out in which the Rolling not at the for a strived for Strength and toughness required temperature in the range already described is terminable. A special heat treatment must then be carried out in which the bars after hot rolling, starting from a temperature at which the structure is ferritic-pearlitic, again to a range between 800 "C and 1000" C lying temperature can be heated. Starting from one lying in this area The rods are then in turn controlled by a gaseous or liquid temperature or coolant atomized as a spray mist or controlled by fluidized bed cooling cooled to at least 50 "C at a rate of 0.5 to 5" C per second below the temperature at which the transformation into ferrite and pearlite is complete.
For most machine parts where high toughness is a priority as opposed to a high elasticity, it can be sufficient if the rods consist of a Steel is rolled which has less than 0.6% silicon.
In many cases it is sufficient if the rods in the specified procedure be cooled down. In the event that the machine parts to be manufactured from it are a should have extremely high fatigue strength, it is appropriate that the controlled Cooling in the specified procedure down to a temperature below 250 ° C he follows.
Machine parts require according to their intended purpose in the Usually either very high toughness and not so high strength at the same time or a very high strength with at the same time not so extremely high toughness. For the (continued on page 7 of the original application) case a required high toughness, but not so high a strength Temperature from which the bars for such machine parts are generally cooled in the specified temperature range closer to 800 ° C, for example at 820 OC. In the event that a very high strength, but not so extreme high toughness is required, the temperature from which the rods start for these machine parts are cooled down, closer to the specified temperature range towards its upper limit, i.e. around 950 OC. At the start of controlled cooling strength ratios are achieved between the mentioned limit values of 820 OC and 9500C notched impact strengths that lie between those of the extreme values mentioned.
When hot-rolled and treated according to the method of the invention Rods are in the rod cross-section at a distance of one sixth of the diameter The following strength and toughness values are achieved from the edge of the bar in the rolling direction, namely differentiated according to the ollen, whether highest strength and not at the same time so high toughness, or highest toughness with not so high strength at the same time was necessary - see the following table.

In practical tests, however, these minimum values are still quite significant in some cases exceeded and values achieved, as can be seen from the following table.
