Manchmal kann trotzdem nicht vermieden werden, daß separate Verkleidungen für die Schweißflansche erforderliche sind. Durch neue Verbindungstechniken (z. B Kleben) sind die Schweißflansche auch nicht mehr zum Aufschieben von Dichtungen notwendig.
