Die Handhabung des Geräthes ist folgende: Man bringt die Scheere 5 an den zu entfernenden Zweig oder die Frucht etc. und zieht dann an der Leine /, welche am Hebel h befestigt ist. Durch das Herunterziehen des Hebels h,' welcher an der Rispernase η durch eine Schraube befestigt ist, wird gleichzeitig, durch den Arm d die Zugstange \ in der Messinghülse f heruntergezogen, wodurch sich die Scheerenarme ss schliefsen und den Zweig abschneiden. In der Hülse f ist eine Spiralfeder angebracht, welche beim Ziehen mit zusammengedrückt wird und beim Lockerlassen der Leine den Apparat wieder in seine geöffnete Stellung zurückbringt. Bei zu starken Zweigen bedient man sich der in Fig. 2 dargestellten Säge; dieselbe wird mit dem Bügel b auf der Schraube c c durch Schraubenmuttern befestigt und so an den Apparat gebracht. Auf einer Seite des Bügels b befindet sich der Haken g, auf der anderen Seite ist das Sägeblatt i befestigt. Am unteren Theile des Sägeblattes befindet sich ein Einleger, welcher in die an der Rispernase η angebrachte Kimme k eingedrückt wird und so der Säge Festigkeit und Spannung giebt. Will man Aeste oder die Baumstämme abschaben und säubern von Raupennestern etc., so entfernt man den ganzen oberen Apparat dadurch, dafs man die Schrauben m an der Messinghülse f und ο am Hebel h löst und dann die Hülse aus dem unteren Theil ρ herauszieht. Man nimmt nun die herzförmige Baumrisper, steckt dieselbe auf die Nase η und befestigt dieselbe von oben mit einer Schraube r im unteren Theile p. 4 shows the panicle seen from above,
