Abstract
To enable highly deep-drawn sheet steel pieces (21), for example cooking pots, to be coated in one operation with differently coloured internal and external coats of enamel, the conventionally pretreated sheet steel piece (21) is covered by a lid (22) to form a closed-off interior (27). The interior (27) can be filled, via an inlet (25) and an outlet (26), with enamel slip. Attached to the inside of the lid (22) is an electrode (24) for implementing the process of electrophoretic enamelling. On the outside of the lid (22) is a holder and current lead (23). The sheet steel piece (21) is simultaneously immersed in a bath of external enamel (20). Internal and external enamel can be deposited simultaneously if the bath vessel and inner electrode (24) are connected as the positive pole and the sheet steel piece (21) is connected as the negative pole. <IMAGE>
