Description
Process for the production of printed metal signs. The production of printed metal signs has so far mostly been done in such a way that the individual Signs first with a light-colored background and then on the latter with the actual one Imprint. This procedure is relatively cumbersome and expensive.
In contrast to this method, according to the invention, the signs Manufactured in such a way that the advantageously made of thin zinc sheet metal first made light and rough in endless ribbons, then provided with the imprint and cut into pieces after applying a protective layer. This will enables a particularly simple and economical production of the signs.
The execution of the procedure itself can, for example, in Art take place that several endless zinc strips together next to each other initially through a sandblasting blower and made clean there, as well as fine-grained roughened becoming, taking on a brilliant light color; then the tapes come back passed together side by side through a rotary printing press and from this appropriately provided with the desired imprint in the offset process. After the The imprint has dried, possibly even before, will appear on the imprint another overprint extending over the entire surface with a die Oxidation of the bright metal surface preventive protective means attached, for example can consist of colorless varnish with an addition of gum arabic. In the end the tapes are fed to a cutting device through which the individual Signs can be cut or punched out and brought into the desired shape. Between the two printing processes as well as the last printing and cutting If required, a known drying process using warm air can also be used or a chemical agent.
