Process for the ignition of oil cones in oil firing by means of
Ignition cartridge. For the ignition of oil fires, which are based on the atomization of heavy fuel oils
or gas oils with or without nozzles have been established so far in the main
Fuses or burning balls of cleaning wool, wood wool or the like are used. This primitive
The ignition process presupposes that the burning one causing the oil to ignite
Object outside the flame room set on fire and then by one more
or less small opening must be introduced into the combustion chamber. For this reason
can be caused by injecting the fuel for too long before ignition, ie
if the ignition starts too late, a sudden ignition of the with oil vapor or
Oil mist-filled flame chamber occur, resulting in a violent sudden
Expansion of the combustion chamber gases and a knocking out of the flames through the openings
the end walls of the furnace in the boiler room. This dangerous phenomenon
occurs when the flame is caused by irregularities in the oil supply or other
Causes goes out and the furnace walls are not yet so hot that the extinguishing
Oil mist jet could ignite again. This is especially important in the warm-up period
the case; the phenomenon gives rise to burns and even to explosions
given. It has now been found that the use of fuses, tufts of cleaning wool
and such aids should be replaced by a central ignition cartridge
leaves, which from the outside from a loose or built into the front wall of the flame chamber
Pistol is fired into the combustion chamber, and due to its special composition
Her charge delivers a long, hot jet of fire, which the sprayed oil mist cone
causes inflammation. The ignition of the oil caused by the cartridge can be opposed
to the ignition of the fuse - to its inactivity a more or less long time
elapses -prompt, be operated even on command. Mixtures serve as ignition charges
of magnesium or aluminum powder with aluminum flakes or other metals
(Zinc and the like), on the one hand, which release larger amounts of heat when burned
and oxygen-releasing bodies on the other hand.
One would go through this rather explosive sentence in the usual way

Example. A mixture of 6o parts of aluminum powder,

Filled into a cartridge m (see drawing), which carries a cardboard tube y as an axis. The cardboard tube runs through the cartridge from the primer z to about = 0 mm from the end of the sleeve, where it passes through a cardboard disc P1 closing the cartridge; The sentences are closed to the front and back by cardboard disks. In the cardboard tubes, two or three stoppins run out of primers and end in a bent shape in the space at the end of the cartridges, which is filled with an over-ignition charge.
