Description
Separation plate for collectors. The partition plate according to the invention consists of a network made of dense acid-resistant fabric, whose from one side to the other continuous cavities are filled with one each Grain of an acid-resistant porous body. The dense acid-resistant fabric is Hard or soft rubber, Bakelite, celluloid or the like. porous body dimstein, porous stoneware, wood o. The like. The production of the separation plates happens on in the following way: the porous body becomes in a manner appropriate to its properties Wisely crushed, by sieving those pieces are separated out, whose Diameter is neither larger nor smaller than the thickness of the separation plate to be produced. The thus separated grains are covered with the dense acid-resistant substance while this is in a soft, plastic or liquid state, intimately mixed. The ratio of the grains to the substance should be such that each grain .von the neighboring is separated by a thin layer of the dense body. On that the mass is rolled out into sheets of the intended thickness. It becomes through this causes all the grains to be side by side and arranged fairly regularly are. The surfaces of the grains lying on the upper or lower surface of the leaf will either become completely free of the dense material or at least only with one very thin skin of the same be covered. The leaves are then passed through one of the The nature of the dense substance appropriate method, e.g. B. vulcanization of rubber, made hard or elastic, and those possibly covering the grains above and below thin layers of the dense material removed by sharp brushes or the like. Intended to the separation plate is given a corrugated shape, the mass is, as described above, rolled out into flat sheets, half hardened, then wavy and in this condition hardened.
Instead of mixing the porous bodies with the dense fabric .. and Subsequent rolling out of the mixture can also be done in such a way that the dense Fabric alone to sheets of a thickness less than that of the partition plates should, roll out, then sprinkle them evenly with the grains of porous material and press the grains into the still soft leaf by applying slight pressure until the The underside of the grains has reached the base of the leaf. The further completion the partition plate is the same as described.
