Device for generating artificial respiration. When using the device
for creating an artificial breathing activity in suffocated or drowned people
according to patent 211138 it has been found advisable to stop the operation of the apparatus
Interrupt if there is any sign of natural breathing, even if weak
are noticeable in the victim. The onset of natural breathing occurs
but weak and irregular, so did the inhalation of the atmospheric air at first
is slow to promote resuscitation. Therefore it still seems desirable
supplying pure oxygen for a while, which may also result in the
Toxins still present in the lungs are rendered harmless and excreted more quickly
will. For this purpose is explained by the aforementioned patent
Device further developed in such a way that it is except for the breathing rhythm
corresponding activity also for supplying pure oxygen directly into the
Breathing line is usable. This is achieved by the fact that the built-in channel system
Reversing organ is designed so that it is not only responsible for the breathing rhythm
required way = connections, but also only the pressure nozzle
and: with it the pure oxygen flow with the breathing line at the same time
Shut off the ring line is able to connect.

Absperren der Ringleitung i. herzustellen vermag.
The oxygen is taken from a suitable source, for example a steel cylinder a, in which it is in a highly compressed state. Reduced to a suitable pressure by the pressure reducing valve b, the oxygen enters the canal system (Fig. 2, 3 and 4) through the line c and the pressure nozzle d. The reversing valve e, to which, in addition to the ring duct, the breathing line f and the air inlet connection h are connected, has a plug designed in such a way that it not only connects the nozzle e with the breathing line f, while maintaining the circulation of the air entering through the connection h (Fig. 2), and the connection of the nozzle to the air nozzle h, while maintaining the circulation of the exhaled air, establishes (Fig. 3), but also a connection of the nozzle to the line f leading to the breathing mask m or the like simultaneous shut-off of the ring line i. able to produce. The paths taken by the air or the oxygen are indicated by arrows in the figures. When natural breathing begins, the cock plug g is transferred to the position (FIG. 4, see also FIG. 5) and left in this position. There is then no rhythmic switching, neither by hand nor automatically, and the oxygen flow from nozzle d can neither produce an insurmountable pressure effect nor suction in the respiratory organs, since pressure equalization is created by the connection h connected to the atmosphere. The ring line i itself is completely shut off by the tap so that the oxygen exiting the nozzle does not suck in outside air and can be fed undiluted to the breathing line, while the excess oxygen not consumed by poorly breathing patients can get outside through the nozzle h .
