Eine Kühlkammer 10 direkt unter dem Kolbenboden weist eine relativ große zentrale Öffnung 16 auf und enthält im übrigen an ihrem äußeren Umfang eine kreisringförmige Shakerrinne 17. Die Abfuhr des Öles aus der Steuerkammer 5 erfolgt über ein Druckbegrenzungsventil 18 in dem Bauteil 15. Dieses Druckbegrenzungsventil 18 ist in den Pleuelkopf eingeschraubt und ragt in den Kolbenbolzen hinein. Das Druckbegrenzungsventil kann jedoch auch, was nicht dargestellt ist, durch den Pleuelkopf hindurch in den Kolbenbolzen 2 eingeschraubt sein. Die Anordnung des Druckbegrenzungsventiles ist dabei derart, daß aus diesem austretendes Öl in die Kühlkammer 10 geführt wird, wo es in der Shakerrinne 17 aufgefangen wird. Aus der Shakerrinne 17 gelangt das Öl wiederum durch die Öffnung 16, durch die es in die Kühlkammer 10 gelangt ist, auch wieder heraus zurück in den Kurbelraum.
