Abstract

The problem exists in practice of cutting protective film continuously laminated onto individual workpiece formats between the formats. The cutting carried out according to prior known processes with film sections projecting over the workpiece edges on both sides of the cutting point leads to difficulties in further processing. According to the invention this problem is solved in that the cutting device - a roll, sphere or spring steel tongue - can freely adjust to the position of the workpiece edges. If this cutting device is then pulled through the gap under slight pressure it uses the two workpiece edges themselves as counterparts to two pinch-off lines. The film is pinched off directly at the workpiece edges with extremely low forces and cut out as strips. The workpieces are supported from below only at the instant of cutting so that damage during the further transport is eliminated. The process is suitable for cutting with halting of the workpieces but also for flying cutting without halting.

Durch die Verbindung der Folienüberstände der übereinandergestapelten Bleche werden, insbesondere bei dünnen Werkstücken, die Kanten der Bleche abgeknickt. Um eine Beschädigung 'der Bleche zu vermeiden, ist das Bedienungspersonal gezwungen, vor dem Herausnehmen der Bleche aus dem Verschlag den Folioiiübcrstand per Hand abzuschneiden.
