Da nun Glimmer ein Produkt ist, das wir vom Ausland beziehen müssen, so ist er jetzt fast nicht zu erhalten. Schamotte liefert infolge des grobkörnigen Gefüges auch keinen schönen glatten Einbau. Der Einbau ist erstens notwendig für die Isolation und dann auch, um die glühenden Drähte vor Luftzutritt zu schützen. Es ist deshalb angebracht, auf ein anderes Material zurückzugreifen. Es sind verschiedene Versuche gemacht worden, z. B. mit Magnesit oder Dolomit und als Bindemittel Wasserglas.
