Description
Elektrische Heizkörper. Bekannt ist der Einbau der Heizdrähte, die meistens aus Nickellegierungen oder Platin bestehen, in Glimmer oder Schamotte. Da nun Glimmer ein Produkt ist, das wir vom Ausland beziehen müssen, so ist er jetzt fast nicht zu erhalten. Schamotte liefert infolge des grobkörnigen Gefüges auch keinen schönen glatten Einbau. Der Einbau ist erstens notwendig für die Isolation und dann auch, um die glühenden Drähte vor Luftzutritt zu schützen. Es ist deshalb angebracht, auf ein anderes Material zurückzugreifen. Es sind verschiedene Versuche gemacht worden, z. B. mit Magnesit oder Dolomit und als Bindemittel Wasserglas. Diese beiden geben zwar eine gute luftdichte Masse, haben aber den Nachteil, daß beide in der Hitze Kohlensäure abgeben, die sich mit dem Nickel besonders im glühenden Zustand sofort verbindet. Das Wasserglas speziell stellt auch eine wenn auch mir gering leitende Verbindung dar, so daß die vom Verband geforderte Durchschlagsfestigkeit niemals erreicht wird.Electric radiators. Auf diese Art wird nun erreicht, daß wir speziell in Deutschland nicht von der Einfuhr von Glimmer abhängig sind, und dann auch weiterhin, daß der Einbau einfacher, billiger und zuverlässiger ist, als wenn er in Glimmer erfolgt.
