Abstract

The invention proposes a device for reducing the radial forces in centrifugal pumps, which, in contrast to the conventional devices affecting the hydraulic conditions, provides direct protection of the impeller subject to the radial forces. This is achieved by means of a ring, which is attached to the wall of the pump casing, surrounds the throat of the centrifugal-pump impeller while leaving a gap, and stays the radial forces acting in the rotor side cavity of the centrifugal pump.
