Description

Process for the production of silicic acid. Body of fat-like Nature and high adsorption effect. It has been found that by acting of oxy acid, such as. B. lactic acid, glycolic acid, etc., on alkali silicates gelatinous, receives fat-like masses of great cleaning power. The implementation the oxy-acid salts formed from the silicates and oxyacids are produced according to the invention not removed from the colloidal silica that forms at the same time, but remain emulsified with this in the finest distribution. They prevent the conversion of the silica in the crystalline form and also require the high cleaning power the mass obtained. Depending on the concentrations used, those are obtained Silica-containing bodies of semi-liquid, pasty or almost solid consistency. They have an extraordinary cleaning power and are used as a substitute for Related to soap. -Also as a substitute for fats or fat-like substances, e.g. B. as Lubricants, they come into consideration.

It has already been proposed for the production of detergents to use oxy-fatty acid Alkalis with the solution of an alkaline reacting salt, e.g. B. alkali silicate, to mix and treat this mixture with sulphurous acid. Here can Although silicic acid is released, sulfuric acid salts are formed, which remain in the mixture. As is well known, these act on organic structures, like skins, etc., bleaching, d. H. damaging, and destructive to metals, so that such a mixture e.g. B. for cleaning dyed fabrics or as a lubricant and is useless for many other purposes. In addition, that procedure is cumbersome, by three steps, namely first production of the oxyfatty acid alkali from free Oxy fatty acid and alkali, then mixture of the oxy fatty acid alkali with water glass, and finally treatment of this mixture with sulphurous acid to obtain the End product are required, while according to the invention a single operation suffices by simply adding free oxyacid with a soluble silicate in equivalents Amounts are mixed in such a way that, in addition to the silica formed, neutral oxyfatty acid Salts are formed.
