Process for the production of paint binders from 1vlineral oil.
For the production of varnish and varnish for iron, wood and the like, it is known that the
Linseed oil is the basis. Attempts have been made to use petroleum to replace linseed oil,
by heating it and dissolving resin in it, and then repeating it with caustic potash
or treated with sodium carbonate and borax or treated with calcium oxide and water,
but such substitutes have not found their way into practice.
The method forming the subject of the invention is also possible
from mineral oil and also uses a.o. Quick lime and resin, but is used in the following

very easy to spread. Applied to wood or iron, it dries
on average within twenty hours to a firmly adhering, sufficiently hard one

as well as the pressure and friction. The testing of the paints in one

It is already known to make paint binders from residues of mineral oils
to win. These residues require intricate and lengthy processing
by sulfonating, heating the tarry mass which is deposited with alkali and
Mixing in linseed oil. According to the invention, no expensive chemicals are consumed
and - without the addition of linseed oil - you get a paint binder that is also suitable for light-colored
Colors, even for whites, are useful, whereas the mass prepared from residues
is dark in color. The advantage of easier procurement of the raw material and simpler
Way of working
the invention also comes in comparison with a method
to, which makes the waxy substance usable, which is at the end of the petroleum distillation
separates from the vapors at around 4003.
